We have one of the largest collections of photographs of buses, coaches, trolleybuses and trams anywhere in the UK. We are busy digitising these so that everyone can have access and, where we hold copyright, we are offering copies for sale in association with our sister organisation, The Omnibus Society.
There are currently over 100,000 images available through two websites, click on the links to see what is available:
All are made available to researchers and enthusiasts to consult at our research centres.
Proceeds from these sales are shared between our two charities, and provides valuable income for us.
Both websites are fully searchable, by operator, registration, vehicle type or location. Each gives instructions on how to purchase images, including a choice of print size. Digital downloads are not available.
Please note that reproduction rights are NOT included in photo sales and images are not to be published, reproduced or used online (including social media) without permission.
We are always keen to receive new donations of photographs, whether these are prints, slides, negatives or a mix of everything!
Your own photographs will be kept together under your name, cared for under professional archive conditions. We would also expect copyright to be donated to us or shared with you during your lifetime. We would make your photographs available to researchers and eventually digitise them and make them available for purchase.
Any general enquiries regarding this collection, including requests to use in publications, online including social media should be addressed to hello@busarchive.org.uk
